1. Who can be the participating adult?
Moms, Dads, Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Uncles, Aunts, Older brothers or sisters, or a family friend can participate! Adult partner must be at least 16 years of age. 2. What if my child doesn’t seem to want to do the dance even in practice classes? A child’s response in class and on stage can be very different. We recommend carefully considering if your child will likely do well before registering, as the registration fee is non-refundable. It is required that children be at least 2.5 years of age to participate. The Sweetheart dance is an experience that will last a lifetime and spending time at rehearsal and working through difficult situations with your dancer is as significant as performing the actual dance. Try to remember this important fact when you feel confused, frustrated and tired so this can be the best experience possible. 3. How does it work with Parent Participants backstage? Dancers check in the same way they normally would. Adult participants also go backstage before the show. We will pair your dancer with you right before the show begins. Don't worry - we walk adults through everything the day before the show at the dress rehearsal where their attendance is required! 4. Will Adult Participants still be able to watch the show? YES! We know this is what you are here for! The Sweetheart Dance is one of the first numbers, so that adults can re-join their families in the audience. We will even give you a seat saver so that other audience members know it’s OK to save that seat! 5. What should Adult Participants wear? Adults will be given a dress code for the performance so that everyone looks consistent. We will post details to bandapp once registered so please keep an eye out for that! You'll also be given instructions at your in-studio rehearsals. |
